Review of A Long Way Down (2014) by Ethan T — 06 Jul 2014
The very nature and winning quality of this film is it's sentimentality. While it's not as 'complete' a film as Hornby's other adaptations, (I felt it could have actually benefited from a longer running time), this is a daring film with four fantastic performances, (especially Brosnan and Poots), and great supporting work from Niell.
While a film about suicide is bound to alienate the average filmgoer, those willing to take the jump will find "A Long Way Down" an absolutely memorable and enjoyable experience.
