Review of A Lonely Place to Die (2011) by Sarfaraz A — 08 May 2012
I like these sort of movies, which start with plot that is 'panic-building'. I was stunned with the opening scene of the movie, which is too sharp and chilling, yet suffocating. I have always loved to watch adventure-filled movies, but this is unlike adventurous, or must I say combo of adventure-cum-thriller. Breathtaking wilderness, of Scottish Highlands, jams you up with intense camera-work.
Performance is average, but I would like to appreciate the character-buildup by director Julian Gilbey, (he is also the co-writer of movie). Like any good film, should always mess-up, this too has got flaws of its own, especially since this movie is entirely shot at wilderness of Scottish Highlands, the climax scene, takes place in the town, which totally ruined my curiosity, that I had been having since the beginning of the movie, maybe it was worth it due requirements for certain scenes. Nevertheless, it is a promising entertainment!
