Review of A Lonely Place to Die (2011) by Donald M — 12 Jan 2012
What an intense flick this was. I wasn't expecting much from it and didn't know anything about it and it made the movie that much more intense. While I was watching this movie I kept thinking, "This is kinda like The Decent, only above ground.
" And the first half really was, it had the same basic principles of The Decent, group of friends go rock climbing out in a remote area and are stalked by relentless predators. Not only do you get the intensity of the danger they're in from being stalked, you also get the added fear of being in an area that's full of natural dangers and not easy to escape.
And it's just about as intense of a film with a nice story that slowly unfolds, some really terrific performances and plenty of graphic violence. Great flick, highly recommended.
