Review of A Lonely Place to Die (2011) by Leslie S — 01 Jan 2013
British thriller film. The movie was filmed on location in the Scottish highlands.
Alison (George), Ed (Speelers), Rob, Jenny and Alex are a group of rock climbers who have plans to scale a mountain in Scotland (weekend warrior types) They make a shocking discovery and soon find themselves in the sights of a pair of snipers intent on murdering the entire group of climbers. A couple members of the group escape from the snipers and make it to a little village only a few miles away--but the village happens to be the meet up stop for the gun totting murderers & their business associates.
This is a good environmental (outdoor) movie with brilliant landscape scenes & I might add the acting was pretty darn good also. It reminded me of a lower budget style Stallone film (Cliffhanger).
** Absolutely fabulous opening & closing Scot/Gaelic folk musical score.
