Review of A Little Bit Zombie (2012) by Jesse O — 04 Jan 2013
This might be the most fun I've had watching a horror film since Cabin in the Woods. Though this film is simply content to on trying to entertain you first and foremost, without much in the way of reinventing the wheel.
Instead of taking horror conventions and turning them on their heads like Cabin did. This film also has a great cast and it was clear they were having a blast doing this film and, to me, that's always important.
The film, as mentioned, isn't out to innovate, but I think the film took this and made it into a positive because sometimes horror films are just meant to be escapist, silly fun. This film achieves that, even if it follows a formula.
The script is fun, there's some gross out moments here but there's also some clever dialogue and fun performances from the cast (especially Kristen Hager, Shawn Roberts, and Stephen McHattie).
And that's about it really, this is just a fun horror flick, though it's more of a comedy than a horror movie. I'm sure not everybody is going to like it, but I thought it was quite entertaining.
