Review of A Little Bit of Heaven (2011) by Jasmine D — 09 Feb 2011

A lighthearted incredibly depressing film on a dying woman doesn't sound a good night out at the flix but throw in Kate Hudson and I'm happy! She does bring her happy fluffy personality to this part but because of the subject matter this is suppressed some what, which is a shame as it kinda spoils the film to a point! Anyway there is some nice touches with Whoopi Goldberg back on the screen as the big man/woman, God! And Kathy Bates as good as ever but not on screen enough for me.

My problem with this film was the relentless harping on that she was dying, I know that sounds heartless but it just goes on and on and at the end of the day this was trailered as a drama/romcom so please just a little less of the depressing drama! Also the chemistry between Kate and Gael Garcia (whatever his name is!) is completely non existent, there is just nothing there and to me they looked a very odd couple! Anyway I did enjoy it to a point and there was a relaxing gentle feel to it all.

Also I must admit I did enjoy the Kate vs Midget scene, that was funny!!!
