Forget the plot, forget the rules. This movie did well as a comedy with a romantic twist. It clearly was meant for a night of meaningless entertainment. It proved as a cute, rather unfocused story, which provoked laughing out loud in a few scenes, but nothing more.
Take it at face value and enjoy the hilarity.
