Review of A League of Their Own (1992) by William F — 25 Nov 2008
Marshall's objective was to "gently play on your heart strings" and teach us a little baseball history at the same time. She succeeds in that objective. However, what makes this film so memorable is not the mushy story line, but it is the history (women's baseball, sexism in the 1940s, etc) and Hank's performance.
If anything, this film will entertain you. I do recommend it.
