For Years, I watched a lot of movies that's dramatic, action-packed, or funny but I do watch a few chick movies. One of those movies is 1992's A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN. Based on a true story and set during the Second World War, Itâ??s the story about the first All American Girls Baseball League while the greatest male Baseball players of that time go off to war.

I've been watching this movie since I was four years old. As years went by, I would have no idea that Director Penny Marshall picked an incredible group of actors and actresses, who I would later see in other movies: Geena Davis (Thelma & Louise), Rosie Oâ?? Donnell (Sleepless in Seattle), Lori Petty (Free Willy), Jon Lovitz (Saturday Night Live), David Strathairn (L.

A. Confidential), Bill Pullman (Independence Day), Téa Leoni (in her first movie role and would later appear in Bad Boys), Megan Cavanagh (Robin Hood: Men in Tights), Penny Marshallâ??s daughter Tracy Reiner, Wayne Gretzkyâ??s wife Janet Jones, and Pop Music Icon Madonna.

Itâ??s nice that Garry Marshall appeared in this movie as Harvey Candy Bar owner and A.A.G.P.B.L. Founder Walter Harvey. After all, heâ??s Pennyâ??s brother. And as for Tom Hanks, his performance as the loud mouth alcoholic coach and former baseball great Jimmy Dugan was the best and I think, one of his greatest performances.

Itâ??s weird for me to see Madonna in this movie as she plays man-loving center fielder Mae â??All the Wayâ?? Mordabito, but I thought she was great. The best scene is when Tom Hanks does the famous â??Thereâ??s No Crying in Baseballâ?? sequence.

I love the song that Madonna sings at the end of the movie â??This Used to Be My Playgroundâ??. Filled with Comedy, Drama, and of course Baseball. A League of Their Own is one of the best movies Iâ??ve ever seen and I would definitely recommend this movie for everyone to see.
