Review of A League of Their Own (1992) by Joel A — 06 Sep 2010
I really enjoyed this film, it was quite funny and had a lot of heart. Jon Lovitz in the first 30 minutes of the film is hilarious! This film just has a certain charm to it, hard to explain.
This is a great example of a pro-woman film, it is fun and shows the potential so many woman had but never get the oppurtunity to do, especially in the war days. All the characters that fill this story are so rich, you got the useless, drunk coach acted to perfection by Tom Hanks, Madonna as the floozy, Geena Davis as the strong female lead.
It's an inspirational true story (how to true...we'll never know) and because the characters are so rich it makes you get in to the story quicker.
This isn't just a silly girly flick about baseball, it has a lot going for it. I imagine both girls and guys alike will get a lot out of it....
