Review of A Lawless Street (1955) by Allan C — 14 Feb 2015
Rather formula but enjoyable western about honest marshal Randolph Scott trying to clean up a town that's been overrunning by wealthy mining company owners who want to reopen the mines and make money off of all the miners, all at the expense of the good townsfolk.
Joseph H. Lewis directed the film, so the action is dependably exciting, even if the story was not. Angela Lansbury (outside of "The Manchurian Candidate") will always be Jessica Fletcher to me, so it seemed really odd for her to be playing a leggy showgirl doing song and dance numbers.
Nothing brilliant, but worth watching if you're a western fan.
