Review of A Knight's Tale (2001) by Drlowdon — 24 Dec 2020

Taking inspiration from the first of Chaucer's Canterbury tales, A Knights Tale sees a young peasant secretly step into his master’s armour following his death. At first his motivation is to purely earn enough money through jousting contests to keep himself and his friends fed but soon finds something more interesting to fight for.

A Knights Tale is a cheerful comedy full of funny and surprisingly clever moments throughout. From the moment you hear rock music blaring out from the crowd it is obvious this is not a movie that takes itself too seriously. It may be over the top but with a host of memorable characters it is easy to be swept along for an enjoyable ride.
