Review of A Home at the End of the World (2004) by Walter M — 31 Mar 2005
A rushed, dull 90-minute film that should have been put into at least 120 minutes. Mayer skips from scene to scene jollily, seeming to only select highlights from Cunningham's beautiful novel. With this we get a "best-of" feel instead of a true film. It lacks the little things that really make the novel work so well. Wright Penn offers a true bright spot in the film though, portraying Clare perfectly with quirky insight.
