I'm not generally a fan of Cronenberg's stuff. And I'm not generally a fan of film critics. I'm with them on this one, though -- I thought it was excellent,disquieting, staying with me afterward in a way many movies do not.
And I find the number and vehemence of the negative viewer reviews here to be genuinely interesting. Ah, well. To each their own.
