Review of A History of Violence (2005) by Nick L — 31 Dec 2012
A History of Violence is funny, provocative, and simply stunning. Everything down to the smallest detail about the Stall family is fine and dandy. Cronenberg captures this lifestyle in a perfectly cheesy way that completely contradicts (in a good way) the violence that he so proudly boasts.
Not only that, but this might just be Cronenberg's best praise of Mortensen's presence to date.
