A History of Violence is an intense thriller that is strengthened by its strong performances and gripping characters. The film is centered around the psychological and physical effects of violence. Not much can be said about the story without giving anything away but it's engrossing and thought-provoking up till the final act where the shift focuses and it loses itself a bit.
