Review of A History of Violence (2005) by Brandon W — 26 Apr 2015
David Cronenberg's A History of Violence is a brilliant movie that is something quite simple, but is really complex when people start thinking about it. The acting is terrific from Viggo Mortensen, Ed Harris, and surprisingly William Hurt.
The effects from what they got look really good and realistic that way. The fight scenes look realistic too and never felt like something out of an action film. The villains are memorable, and so are the characters.
It's a bit unpredictable that the closest thing you can think would happen, is the feeling of it but not entirely sure. I don't necessarily know the deep meanings of it as I'm not that type of moviegoer that looks through every meaning of it, but it doesn't make it obvious however and it might be one of those films that you have to see it twice to understand it.
A History of Violence is not entirely a fast pace film, but it's quite an interesting film that actually feels different thanks to the director's style and the script.
