Review of A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints (2006) by Jameson B — 22 Feb 2010
"In the end I left everyone but no one really left me..." This is an autobiographical coming of age story about an author/screen writer who is remembering his past of growing up in the slums in New York in the 1980s.
It's about how his friends and family affected his life and his ultimate decision to cut them all out of it. It's a moving story with great acting...and in my opinion the best work I've seen Shia LaBeouf do so far.
Not for someone sensitive to language or violence. If you can get past that and realize its used realistically to the characters and environment of the story, then this movie is worth seeing.
