Review of A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints (2006) by Matthew K — 14 Apr 2008
A well-rounded cast and brutal honesty make this movie worth watching. It's about an author who walks down memory lane and revisits his roots in working class Queens, New York. Along the way he confronts demons, both past and present involving his estranged family, flames and a friend who would literally do anything for him.
My only real complaint is that despite top billing, Downey and Dawson have relatively little screen time as most of the story revolves around the childhood events leading up to our protaginists escape to LA.
