Review of A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints (2006) by Roberto N — 26 Sep 2008
Good film, most of it due to its captivating characters and actors playing them. The story itslef was ok, a bit confusing and messy, but could better understand it after watching the interview with the writer turned into director.
His inexperience in movie making shows, but he provided a pretty close account of his early life and the way he experience it. That already makes the movie interesting enough. The Shia dude is indeed a good actor, capable of some chilling moments.
Channing Tatum also gave his all in his best performance to date (I didnt know him before, but later learned he was in "Step Up" - enough said). Secondary actors also good, Chazz Palminteri, Dianne Wiest, Robert Downey,Jr.
- worth watching.
