Review of A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints (2006) by Jo B — 28 Jun 2009
This film was like finding $20 on the ground and spending it on whatever you like. The movie was really great and one of the best low budget films I've ever seen. I was really caught up into the story and all the characters were very authentic and I could recognize some people that resembled them in spirit.
You would think Robert Downey would steal the scenes but no, newcomer Shia Labeouf stole the spot light from Downey and gave a very memorable performance unlike other films he has been in which they downplay his character. His acting really gave me a glimpse into his future and his possibility to be a big star and it has come true. I highly highly recommend this little known film to everyone looking for a good flick. If I still haven't sold you then you must be blind and need braille to read this. Go now and rent it or better yet buy it!
