Review of A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints (2006) by Ws W — 29 Oct 2010
I kept wondering to myself during watching: could Dito Montiel just tell the story in a proper way instead of being such self-absorbed, pretentious starting from the beginning, in addition to the annoying, non-stop, nagging dialogues throughout.
The movie turns out to be pretty fair, although kinda uncomfortable to watch as a matter of fact. By editing out scenes explaining why Monty (Chazz Palminteri) treats Antonio (Channing Tatum) even better than his own son (Shia LaBeouf), makes the relationship among them (the latter two in particular) becoming rather incompletely flat & one-sided.
