Review of A Goofy Movie (1995) by Wesley R — 25 May 2008
This animated feature was fun and entertaining for the first one-hundred views, but it got old really quickly. Though I think this film was based off the television series that aired on the Disney Afternoon during the early/mid-90s, "Goof Troops," someone I felt this film took place five years down the road.
Not exactly like the television series, but I guess it could be an off-branch of the series, hence: Max went through puberty. I would prefer if the film was set in the same time period as the series, but having Max in high school and is fine too, I guess.
The film's animation was neat, and I actually enjoyed that the film made several 90s references that were probably cool and hip back then, but outdated in 2008. The best part of the film has to be the film's ending: the concert scenes.
It was cool, and I actually liked the song when I saw it years ago! It's been a while since I saw this film -- I still own it on VHS -- I wouldn't mind viewing it again. Overall, the film was entertaining, but only to an extent.
There were some long and boring moments, but those did not derailed the film all that much.
