Review of A Good Year (2006) by T G — 07 Jun 2009
After an awful first half hour the film does settle into its own rhythm of gentle humour and slight charm, helped to no end by Russell Crowe's performance. Still Ridley Scott is terribly unsuited to the material and misses the mark with so many of the film's beats - particulalrly the visuals (in complete opposition to Matchstick Man in which he revels in the small locations and interractions).
