Review of A Good Year (2006) by Stuart T — 14 Feb 2009
It's so refreshing to see Russell Crowe play a light romantic comedy. I think it's my favorite performance of his. If you look really close, I think you'll see he's channeling Cary Grant's physical comedy a bit.
This is certainly an unusual choice for Ridley Scott, but it's nice to see what such an incredible director can do with lighter fare. I loved the entire cast, the bouncy musical score, and the lovely setting.
It's a refreshing breeze of a movie, but one easily forgotten. And like so many romantic comedies, it's utterly predictable.
