Review of A Good Year (2006) by Barry T — 07 Sep 2010
For whatever reason fellow tomato-enthusiasts seem to have divided over "A Good Year." Rest assured, however, as Russel Crowe delivers for viewers everywhere on this fantastic film that mixes the elegance and serenity of a hidden French vineyard (and inheritance) with the dichotic struggle many of us face in finding serenity in our cosmpolitan lives.
Truly a thourough soul-search with enough lighthearted moments and foreign allure to satisfy any romantic or over-worked individual. I found myself walking away wondering if what I have invested my time into in my life is worth it or if I've been taking those who really have meant the most in my life for granted.
Watch it. Love it. Let me know if this movie gets you as it got me. Oh and I strongly recommend watching it twice, it seems to draw more substance this way. Don't forget to watch with a bottle of your favorite dry red wine though!
