Plot Summary.

This movie revolves around the married couple as they go from place to place, interact with other people. Everyone engages in gossip about who?s going out with who and what they?re doing with each other in public. It takes a while for Mrs. Winderemere to find evidence that her husband may be sharing his heart with another woman, and she has to get to the bottom of the matter..

At the same time, another story unfolds. Tuppy is making moves on Mrs. Elynne. Will they end up together or not?.

.

SCORING.

Main Characters.

Not very engaging. We?ve got a bunch of men and women who do almost nothing but spread rumors and gossip about each other instead of finding out what the truth of the matter is. It seems like they want to pick up a copy of the Star or In Touch ? but that paper probably wasn?t available where they are (Italian Riviera) or when this picture takes place (1930?s). SCORE: 3.

.

Supporting Cast.

More old men who do nothing but sit about and decimate the sanctity of marriage. They thing a monogamous relationship is a monotonous relationship. Thanks a lot, guys. SCORE: 2.

.

Plot.

Did I say enough about gossip and people who do nothing but gossip? That?s basically the entire plot. There are a few scenes later in the film where the characters do take action, but that?s too little, way too late. SCORE: 2..

.

Originality.

This kind of material comes straight from tabloids. It is also as tiring as hearing about Brangella making up/breaking up for the thousandth time. SCORE: 3.

.

Violence Factor.

There?s a punch thrown late in the film, but the people are too stuck up to engage in that kind of tomfoolery. SCORE: 8.

.

Other Moral Issues.

There may be a message in this film about marriage, but it is warped, twisted and bent so far out of shape by the almost endless chatter that I can?t recognize what it is. SCORE: 3.

.

Final Score (out of 60): 21 % Score: 35%.

The film just talks and talks and talks?.
