Review of A Good Woman (2004) by Brandy M — 19 Jun 2006
What a clever little gem of a movie, much better than I anticipated from reading other reviews. I have never seen or read the play so my review is based solely on the movie. The one-liners and quips sprinkled liberally through out the movie are very witty and amusing, my favorite part of watching the movie was anticipating these little zingers.
The twist took me by surprise, I didn't see it coming and I love when that happens! Things are not always as they seem. The exploration of love, trust, sacrifice and redemption devises a remarkable conclusion for this film and the plot helps save the movie from Hunt and Johansson's lukewarm performances.
I gave it 3 stars...would have been 4 stars with better casting.
