Review of A Good Woman (2004) by Susan P — 30 Mar 2010
I was surprised that this wasn't a better movie. It looks lovely, and Tom Wilkinson is in it (and he's always fantastic), but the women are not so good. Helen Hunt is more convincing than Johansson in her role, but their pincurls do more of the acting then they do.
The English accents that come and go make you wonder why they bothered trying. They're not convincing, probably miscast and the wit of Oscar Wilde just rolls over and goes to sleep.
