Review of A Good Day to Die Hard (2013) by John Paul M — 21 Sep 2013
Better than the last, but doesn't even sniff 1 or 3.
It's kind of funny a guy from the A-Team wrote this, it's kind of one of those throw away stories from the movie (or the show for that matter). It definitely was the weakest part of the movie, sometimes I barely knew what was going on.
Acting was decent, Willis always is pretty good as McClain, and they made sure to add in most of his famous lines from the series in a pretty natural way. I didn't like Jai Courtney as McClain Jr. His performance was subpar and unconvincing.
What I did like were the carefully shot action scenes. Good action scenes always do it for me, and these will be in my top ten for this year. While you can still think McClain is the luckiest M'Fer in the world and the action stays wacky, it doesn't reach the absurdity of a low flying fighter jet shooting at a semi truck on a freeway overpass.
This is a pretty good Saturday night rental for any action fans out there.
