Review of A Good Day to Die Hard (2013) by Jeremy Y — 07 Sep 2014
Live Free or Die Hard was surprisingly solid and entertaining, but the Die Hard franchise finally runs out of steam in its fifth installment and hits rock bottom. It's as generic an action flick you could get, sanded to the point where it feels nothing like a Die Hard whatsoever.
The script is really bad, the acting right behind it, and the chemistry between a sleepwalking Willis and his son is nonexistent. The dumb story itself is one that had no business in ever being told, and why it got shoehorned to fit here is the real mystery at play.
