Review of A Good Day to Die Hard (2013) by Mike P — 29 Sep 2013
Like everyone else in the world, I love the first Die Hard movie, I even enjoyed Live Free or Die Hard (Die Hard 4) to my surprise. However, A Good Day to Die Hard is a bad day at the movies (I'm sure that I'm not the first person to come up with that).
A Good Day to Die Hard lacks all of the charm and entertainment the Die Hard franchise has been known for. Not one aspect of this movie is above average. The acting is phoned in, the dialogue is cringe-inducing, and the action is the same generic darkly lit, shakey cam garbage that's in every mediocre modern day action movie nowadays.
The only reason I didn't score this movie any lower is because, while this movie is awful, I was able to detach this movie from being associated with Die Hard in any way, shape, or form. It's sad that the one "positive" I can say about this movie is a backhanded compliment.
