Review of A Girl Like Her (2012) by Calvin R — 02 Jun 2016
While most critics found merit in this faux-documentary-found-footage mix, it's easy to understand its detractors'complaints--it's manipulative to the max, has a problematic structure and is at times a bit exploitive.
But the stunning acting by the two female leads and the film's honorable and mostly successful attempt to cast a different light on high school bullying make this a truly great film. This one will stay with you for a long time and should be required viewing for anyone 15 and up.
