Review of A Ghost Story (2017) by Jake R — 01 Aug 2017

Just...boring. It's a typical indie movie to be honest. Not much of a story, just a series of deep thought provoking shots. It gets tired after awhile. Example, there is a scene with the woman (whatever her name is) eating pie.

Seems simple but it's one shot of her eating pie on the floor while the ghost stands in the background and this goes on for at like 3 or 4 minutes. No cuts, no nothing. She's just eating pie. Then of course there's the quintessential scene where some sweaty hippy is telling everyone the meaning of life in some long winded monologue.

It's just boring. It felt like some film student's senior project.
