Review of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (1966) by Mat K — 17 Jul 2008
A hilarious musical in the vein of Mel Brooks-esque crazy situations and quick-wittedness. Slightly bawdy, slightly bold, very silly and thoroughly enjoyable.
Zero Mostel is awesome, not to mention the guy from Some Mothers Do Have 'Em and Buster Keaton. The whole cast just makes this work. The chariot chase made me laugh soo hard!
Awesome musical comedy, making fun of the all-too-glorious Roman epics of the sixties.
Highly recommended!
