Review of A Fool There Was (1915) by Private U — 03 Apr 2008
The narrative structure was poorly wrought, even for its time. The development is confusing and poorly done, and all the wrong things seem to be emphasized, things of no consequence to the plot or the general feel of the movie.
It seems as though the whole affair was something like our pop movies, or Johnny Depp movies these days: based solely on the vibrancy of the star's persona. Firmly rooted in its, time, It's a movie for Theda and her fans.
