Review of A Fish Called Wanda (1988) by Nikolai E — 29 Mar 2009
Enough has been said on this one already, I'll just add that I really admire John Cleese's restraint in his own performance. He made his name in much more extreme roles, and yet his earnest straight man is the lynch-pin of the entire film, and what makes the Kevin Kline's loose cannon look so good.
Also, I can no longer go on believing that "Snatch" and "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" simply materialized from the aether. It doesn't diminish their success in the slightest, I'm just really curious how many times Ritchie sat through this film.
