Review of A Fish Called Wanda (1988) by The Critic ( — 26 Sep 2012
This hilarious and clever caper is anything but your typical heist movie, with plenty of plot twists and turns that keep putting a spanner in the works for our assorted quirky characters.
There's plenty of fun to be had here, with an array of effective gags on show, as scene-stealer Kevin Kline sniffs his armpit, Jamie Lee Curtis lets her fetish for foreign languages get the better of her, a stuttering Michael Palin attempts to kill an old lady, and John Cleese tries to keep his sanity.
Easily one of the best comedies released in its year and quite possibly one of the best comedies of all time.
