Review of A Fish Called Wanda (1988) by Jerry F — 20 Feb 2013
A group of four robbers in a desparate attempt to ensure the success of their heist try to kill a key witness while one of them, a sexy temptress, cons the barrister who is defending one of the gang. A delightful and clever comedy with plenty of laughs and entertaining situations as well as its occasional bite and dark sides.
The screenplay is pretty intelligent and seems to draw inspirations from the wittiest of the classic films of Ealing Studios and the Monty Python comedy style. The cast adds to the fun by seemingly having fun themselves, portraying the colourful characters in a most hilarious way.
