Review of A Film Johnnie (1914) by Ryan G — 29 Aug 2009
Another one of Chaplin's early shorts made in the easy confines of a movie studio. This was one of the first, but he would come back to the setting occasionally throughout the next few years. The film is a series of largely disconnected gags, though Chaplin shows off some of his unique physical gifts in the scenes with the gun and the fire hose.
Amusing, but not all that memorable.
