Review of A Field in England (2013) by Himmah W — 10 Sep 2013
From Down Terrace, to Kill List to Sightseers and now to this acid trip of a film, I have come to the conclusion that Ben Wheatley is a celluloid God. He has no creative equal amongst the current crop of feature film peddlers.
The man is absolutely insane! He makes the likes of Terry Gilliam seem mainstream. He is John Waters with a measured and assured sense of narrative. I can only but be in reverence of this maniac who is in complete control of his insanity.
I want to be just like him when I grow up, lol. I had the pleasure to see his latest offering at TIFF last night and man was I blown away. If Shakespeare lived in our age, he would have made this picture.
