Review of A Few Good Men (1992) by Uditha D — 01 Jan 2012
I would call this is a definitely thrilling drama, and one that isn't really in the thriller genre. Yet for all that, A Few Good Men was a conspicuously good drama that set its plot in a to-the-point, no-nonsense, and of course suspense-filled manner, with its best part lying in its band of performances.
I really cannot do justice to Tom Cruise, Demi Moore, Kevin Pollak, Jack Nicholson, Kiefer Sutherland and Kevin Bacon's lead roles with words, but the best shot I can manage is that the film deserved all those great performances.
All these actors managed to breath convincing clarity to their roles, especially the villainous ones (and here I give special commendation to Jack Nicholson). But all in all, what really struck me was its final courtroom scene, where Cruise evicts a forced confession from Nicholson: the technique and drama used in that scene, I think, is unparalleled in the world of courtroom movies.
As all movies go, I believe this holds a special place in my heart.
