Review of A Few Good Men (1992) by Patrick K — 26 Jun 2010

I almost always enjoy court drama as a lot of people do, but this movie had a number of problems. For one, its way over-dramatic. Numerous scenes, along with the score, come off kinda goofy because the movie as a whole bounces back and forth as a totally serious movie and a run of the mill tv drama.

I never completely bought in. Perhaps the biggest reason why is Tom Cruise's character. I dont know if its more the fault of how its written and directed or with how Cruise played it but either way it rubbed me the wrong way and nearly ruins the movie.

Most of the rest of the cast held up their end but they couldn't save Cruise. Overall its an entertaining movie, yes, but its tough to get past a lot of how its made.
