There's really no movie here because as soon as the Navy brass found out that low-ranking lawyer Kaffee (Tom Cruise) decided all on his own to take a sensitive case to court, they would have stone-walled him and ordered him to go back to his cubicle and have a donut.
But Jack Nicholson is great as Colonel Jessup and when he is on-screen, the film comes to life. As for Cruise and Demi Moore, I hope they don't quit their day job. If they don't have one, they need to get one.
