Review of A Farewell to Arms (1932) by Jeff B — 06 Dec 2008
I think the movie, being one of an era of long ago, was actually alright. I read the book a while ago and was interested to see how the movie would compare. Helen Hayes and Gary Cooper were inspiring, but I thought the acting might have been a little bit over the top than I would normally think it would be.
The combination of love and war seems to be the desired cinematic experience, and it really brought a forefront to the eyes of America of what was actually taking place right before their eyes.
