For a wholesome family movie, A Dog's Way Home is surprisingly deep as issues of breed discrimination and veteran's affairs are tackled with sensitivity and insight. The wondrous story of Bella, who treks 400 miles to find her human, is a testament to the powerful bond between the two-legged and the four-legged.

Voiced by Bryce Dallas Howard, Bella comes alive in the mountainous terrain and expresses the wonderment of meeting both man and beast. Howard embodies the spirit of Bella and takes us on a journey that is sure to delight all ages.

The heart of the story is that love has no bounds, whether it is between dog parents and their pups, a homeless man trying to survive day by day or between a service dog and veterans. Shelby, the pup who plays Bella, has a truly remarkable story.

Found living in a landfill and brought to a shelter, she received her acting creds after being selected for the role of Bella after a nationwide search. She has gone on to become a real life Therapy Dog, visiting and making a difference in the lives of veterans.

Definitely recommend this movie for the whole family. There will be tears of all kinds but the end result is joyous and will make the viewer believe that a dog truly is man's (or woman's) best friend.
