I expected "A Dog's Purpose" to be a good movie because it was based on a best-selling book by W. Bruce Cameron. It exceeded my expectations. It was terrific. The casting of both human and canine actors is top-notch and the acting by Dennis Quaid and others is star quality.
Direction by Lasse Hallstrom is superb. Cinematography, from sweeping landscapes to shots at dog's-eye level, is exceptional. The movie has humor, pathos,exciting action, and tender, moving moments.
