This is a great movie. Sad that something with such a heartwarming message was polluted by our PC culture. Animal abuse is a terrible tragedy but to think that people would construe this movie as abuse is beyond logic.
If anything I think a movie with a message like this only creates that much more love for animals and I know for myself and many other people it only made us appreciate our four legged family members that much more.
Who knows how much more good could have been done if the premier and launch of the movie would have gone as planned. I hope anyone who supports pet adoption, shelters, and animal relief organizations will stand behind the producers and actors for creating something beautiful that really did emphasize the importance of love and the value that a pet can bring to a family or individual.
Well done Mr. Quaid.
