Review of A Dog's Breakfast (2007) by Ddd D — 30 Nov 2008
Watching this film was like watching a clever little play or a seven-minute skit on SNL... except that A Dog's Breakfast was actually feature-length. There were only five actors, two of which had less than five lines each; three set changes, inside the house, outside the house, and by a lake; and absolutely no special effects.
The script had a great concept and was well-written, despite the fact the fist 45 minutes were kind of bland to watch. I hadn't heard of any of the actors before: lead actor, Dave Hewlett, was amazing and hilarious.
.. the lady who played his sister, Kate Hewlett, left something to be desired, however. All in all, A Dog's Breakfast was pretty funny. That said, I would only recommend it to a few people I know because not everyone would appreciate the movie's simplicity.
