Review of A Dangerous Method (2011) by Daniele C — 01 May 2012
You expect this movie to be about psychoanalysis, right? WRONG, it's about the love affairs of Dr. Jung.
You expect to be thrilled to see a charismatic figure as Freud portrayed in a movie, right? WRONG, Viggo Mortensen is the weakest and least interesting of the characters, playing a flat and boring Freud.
You expect Keira Knightley to play a great psychotic patient? WRONG, she's totally exaggerated and manieristic at times, overacting her role to the point that her character seems fake.
The beautiful settings and costumes are not enough to save this movie. And the fact that the story they're trying to tell us is potentially so interesting, enhances even more the disappointment for such UNinteresting movie.
It cannot even be defined as boring, it is simply... pointless.
